How do I set up an authentication app for two-factor verification?

Follow the Client Portal setup process, resolve rejected authentication codes, switch available methods, or recover access after losing the app.

FXTRADING.com strongly recommends setting up an authentication app in advance when the option is offered. It generates time-based codes locally on your device and reduces dependence on Email or SMS delivery for each verification.

Before you start

  • Install a reputable authentication app from the official app store for your device.

  • Keep access to your current FXTRADING.com verification method until setup is complete.

  • Make sure your device date and time are set automatically.

  • Never share a QR code, setup key or authentication code.

Set up the authentication app

  1. Sign in to the Client Portal.

  2. Open Security from the left navigation.

  3. Under Two-factor authentication (2FA), find Authenticator app and select Update.

  4. Follow the instructions displayed to scan the QR code or enter the setup key, then enter the current code generated by the app.

  5. Keep access to your current verification method until the Client Portal confirms that setup is complete.

The generated code changes regularly. Enter the current code before it expires.

The code is not accepted

  • Confirm that you selected the FXTRADING.com entry in the authentication app.

  • Wait for a new code and enter it once.

  • Set the device date and time to automatic, then try again.

  • Do not delete the authentication-app entry while setup or recovery is in progress.

If the QR code or setup key is no longer visible, restart the setup from the Client Portal instead of reusing an old image.

Change to another verification method

Open Security → Two-factor authentication (2FA) and use a different method only if it is offered. Complete the confirmation using the currently active method.
